Best Pump Pellet Guns
Pump pellet guns are becoming less popular as time goes on. Their popularity dwindles in lieu of break barrel pellet guns. Break barrel pellet guns have the advantage of speed in loading and cocking the action. Pump pellet guns require numerous pumps, from 3-10 and then unlocking and locking a bolt that feeds the pellet or bb. This requires more time for a second or third shot if hunting. Pump pellet guns do not generate the same power as break barrel guns which can attain 1250 fps. The best pump pellet guns can only reach 800 fps. However pump pellet guns are very cheap. For example the Daisy Powerline 880 sells for about $35.00.
Recommended Pump Pellet Guns
The first pump pellet gun that I would recommend happens to be a pistol, the Crosman 1322 or 1377 American Classic pistol. It retails for 79.99. Buy the Crosman 1322/1377 on Amazon.com for $64.
The Crosman 1322/1377 is a single shot, bolt action gun in either .22 caliber or .177 caliber. Maximum velocity with .22 pellets is 460 fps while the .177 model does 600 fps with lead pellets. You can shoot target with 3 pumps or hunt small game with 10 pumps. The 1322/1377 is mostly metal and has a good weight and feel. The steel barrel is fully rifles and very accurate out to 35 yards with open sights. The pistol grip and forearm are synthetic with a textured grip. This pellet gun is pretty powerful and can easily take small game like raccoon, rabbits and squirrels. Customer reviews on this pump pellet gun are fantastic.
My next recommendation is the Crosman 2100b pump pellet gun. I had one of these when I was a kid back in the 70’s. It’s a great pellet gun and very powerful. It’s a single shot pellet gun but can also shoot bb’s. It is mostly synthetic but is still well made and will last for many years. The barrel is steel lined and fully rifled. The Crosman 2100b is lightweight and easy to pump. It’s a .177 caliber gun with a pellet velocity of 725 fps while bb’s attain 755 fps because they are lighter. The 2100b gets excellent reviews online. It retails for $69.99. Buy the Crosman 2100b for $65 at Amazon.com
The cheapest pump pellet gun that I would recommend is the Crosman 760 Pumpmaster. I also had a Crosman 760 when I was a kid. The stock was wood back then which is synthetic now. It too was a great gun and I had a lot of fun with it. The 760 is a multi pump single shot pellet gun that also shoots bb’s. Maximum pumps is 10 while 3 is the minimum. Velocity with lead pellets is 615 fps and bb’s 645 fps. The open sights are good but a scope makes it much easier to shoot accurately especially for hunting. The Crosman 760 Pumpmaster retails for $49.99. Buy the Crosman 760 Pumpmaster for $34 at Amazon.com.
All three of these pump pellet guns are cheap and will last many years if you take care of them. From $35 to $65, these pump pellet guns are great bargains.
